Belmont Forum Shopping Centre Extensions and Carpark

Project Details

Client:Perron Group
Contact Value:$2 million
Commenced:April 2018
Completion:September 2018
Perron Group initially engaged Focus Building Company in 2018 to demolish the existing 3,000m² Belmont Village Shopping Centre and convert it into a 162 bay carpark. This project consisted of safe removal of any asbestos materials, installation of substantial new civil drainage systems and additional lighting. These works were carried out in a busy operational public carpark whilst controlling Western Power high voltage diversions and removal of existing services. Focus completed the project on budget and on time with minimal disruption or incident to either the public or the adjacent cinema and retail tenancies. The contract was then extended to include the lesser works at Belmont Forum Shopping Centre to house the new Sporting Globe Tavern. These works included demolition of existing structural walls, creation of a new tenancy using a combination of AFS and block work walls, decorative concrete floor finishes, feature timber cladding, additional structural steel framing and the creation of new loading and compactor bays. Focus provided design advice to overcome existing service clashes, to coordinate fitout works with base building works and to resolve inherent safety issues.
